Excellent food; very creative menu: especially the pizza. Highly recommend!
The most interesting flavors you'll find north of Des Moines (and maybe south, too!) created by chef Joshua Frederick. A strong emphasis on organic, seasonal, local foods deliciously prepared in the cafe's wood fired oven along with a nice selection of reasonably priced beers and wines, all served in a warm, welcoming ambience. Mir specializes in wood fired pizza but every dish I've had has been delicious. Their sourdough bread and olives are worth the trip.
Go with a group and order one of everything. The meatballs and roasted veggies and salads should not be skipped over for the pizza. Make sure you get both. Also, leave room for dessert. The night went they had run out of the butterscotch pot d'creme but we will make sure to head back and try it. The people in this area are so lucky to make a modern, fresh, local option like this. If I lived closer I would go every week.
Wow, incredible food. There is no restaurant within 100 miles that has the unique menu this place has. The woodfire pizza is awesome. Crust is fantastic.
Had a woodfire squash that would be a meal itself. It was unlike anything I've ever had. This is my new favorite restaurant!
